August 3, 2005 Dear Brothers and Sisters, Just to let you know that due to Labor Day weekend, our September meeting will not take place until Friday, September 9, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. Also, the Executive board meeting will be changed to September 7, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. We encourage everyone to attend the monthly meetings. The atmosphere at the meetings is much different than in years past. Enclosed you will find some deductible information that may help you and your family. It has been brought to my attention that a lot of members do no have copies of our standard agreement and expense agreement. These agreements cover Service and Construction personnel. If you need a copy, please feel free to call the Local 139 office and we will see that you receive one. In the coming months, we will be putting resolutions together for the convention coming up in September 2006. Having the Standard Agreement will help all in coming up with resolutions that are important to Local 139 Attention: All Apprentices The J.A.C. members have been preparing for the next school year. The results are that they now have all the Apprentices assigned to their classes for the new school year. Lesson plans are prepared and the instructors are ready to go. On August 23, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. School sign-up will be at the Operating Engineers Hall at 4510 N. Orange Blossom Trail. Please be there on time. All classes will be assigned and all questions will be answered. There will be a Power Point presentation on the responsibilities and requirements of being an apprentice. All apprentices need to be in attendance for this meeting. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask at this meeting. All questions will be addressed. Fraternally, Paul Johnson, B.R.
