Page 5 of 15 Why not Windows? The problem with Windows is that EVERYTHING cost you extra. Say if your web browser just happens to let hackers gain control of your machine, you are expected to buy out of your own pocket anti-virus software as well as a separate application just to hunt down and kill Trojans and Spyware applications. (Don't get me started as this topic is a small article in itself. It ticks me off just writing this much about the problem.) You also pay a hidden cost of these people their using up your precious Internet bandwidth to do whatever it is they want. Haven't you ever noticed that sometimes your computer begins to start slowing down eventually not even being able to browse the Internet? You can improve your chances of not having to reinstall your Window installation by avoiding the use of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Two good examples of open source applications that can be used instead of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express are Mozilla FireFox web browser and Mozilla Thunderbird mail client. Now I've wandered off topic a bit. Let me try and get back to what I was trying to tell you in the first place. |
