Why I am interested in Linux
What interests me in it the most is that I no longer worry about computer viruses, trojans and hackers.  In fact, the only anti-virus software that you can get for Linux is actually an application that scans e-mails that will eventually be delivered to Windows Clients.  It does not scan for viruses that might affect Linux itself.

Think about that statement for a moment.....        Why wouldn't you need to run an anti-virus application in Linux?  I'll save the explanation for another article.

But that is not the primary reason I enjoy it so much.  I like it because it is like a virtual Tinker Toy Erector Set.  Everything is modular.  If you don't like your web browser you can yank it out completely and switch to another brand.  You don't like the way your desktop works, you can uninstall it and replace it with one that you like better.  I can have Firefox uninstalled in about 2 minutes with no residulal files remaining on the system.  Try uninstalling Internet Explorer and see if you can continue to boot to your Windows computer after that.
